Benica Solutions Limited is a facilities and maintenance company operating throughout England.  We specialise in maintaining commercial premises carrying out varied tasks in addition to set contract requirements. 

A vacancy has arisen for a full-time facilities and maintenance manager to take up a position just outside Newmarket in the CB8 postcode area.  Salary is negotiable within the above parameters depending on candidate.  Full accredited training will be provided after appointment to enable candidate to fully meet the requirements of the role.  All necessary tools and equipment will be provided.  There is a requirement to be on site from 0700 hours Monday to Friday to open up but hours are flexible beyond this.  The successful candidate must be motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision.

The company director has an affinity to the police service having previously worked as a member of police staff.  Benica Solutions Ltd employs a number of retired police officers on a regular basis.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out routine maintenance of external areas of the site including grass, hedging and hard landscaped areas.
  • Carry out internal painting and decorating to all internal areas as required to maintain the building in good decorative order
  • Maintain internal lighting and external lighting up to 1.2 metres above ground level.
  • Carry out annual PAT testing of appliances.
  • Clean and maintain windows internally and externally.
  • Repair/replace non-technical plumbing & drainage faults.
  • Carry out day to day cleaning of the facility and maintain stores of consumables.
  • Liaise with and chaperone non-security cleared contractors
  • Carry out mandatory testing on fire systems and maintain records for inspection.
  • Undertake regular Safety, Health and Environmental Hazard site reviews
  • Review site risk assessments in conjunction with the site’s facilities coordinator.
  • Make safe any other Health and Safety issues identified.
  • Carry out low level non-technical preventative maintenance.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

Reporting to the Out of Hours or Duty Team Manager our drivers are responsible for driving the Duty Doctor to home visits and to other premises, and for patient transport when needed

You will be required to drive the Duty Doctor to patient homes within the West Yorkshire area. You will support the Duty Doctor with administrative tasks and the control of drugs to enable them to perform their duties satisfactorily.

You will need a driving licence with no more than 3 points, extensive experience of driving in cities and motorways, both day and night time, together with customer service skills to enable you to work in partnership with the Duty Doctor and colleagues to provide the best standard of care to our patients.
